Engaging with Jesus through his Parables

The parable was the principle form of speech in the ministry of Jesus. Puzzling, tantalizing, and prone to misappropriation, the parables of Jesus have held the thought and imagination of the believer since they were first recorded.

Join us at College and Careers Connections ‘08 at Mont Ste. Marie as Dr. George Shillington leads us in worship and reflection on the parables of Jesus.  It will be a full weekend of cutting-edge study and discussion on the most enduring texts of our faith tradition, and some of the most pressing issues of our time.

 Keynote speaker

Dr. George Shillington, Professor Emeritus at Canadian Mennonite University, will be our keynote speaker. He is published widely in New Testament scholarship, and has lectured internationally on Jesus, Paul, and first century Judeo-Christian thought. He has served as a church pastor, and conference minister, and continues an active pulpit ministry throughout Canada and Northern Ireland.

 The location

DiningRoomThis year we are happy to host the College and Career Connections’08 at Auberge Carpentier, situated on Lac Heney near Mont Ste. Marie.
The Auberge is a large comfortable cottage, with overnight accommodations for 20 people.
A traditional hot breakfast and full supper will be provided, for Friday evening Saturday and Sunday morning.
A variety of indoor and outdoor activities are planned, including a trip to Mont Ste Marie Ski hill, and of course the après ski hot tub.

 Registration is Open!

Please register here!. We need to get final numbers to the Auberge Carpentier, including any special needs and dietary restrictions.  We also need to get a sense of how many people will be skiing on Saturday afternoon, to help plan the afternoon activies for those who not be hitting the slopes.
